Alena Korneva's "Море, небо, высота" Is Out — and On the Radio

A new single I produced is out: "Море, небо, высота" ("Sea, Sky, Height") by Krasnodar singer and songwriter Alena Korneva, released through my LOONY HOUSE imprint on July 10, 2018. It has since entered rotation on Pervoye Radio in Krasnodar.
Alena came to me with her lyrics and wanted to turn them into a finished record. I brought in Yuriy Krasilnikov to write the music — a friend since childhood, and by now one of the leading jazz saxophonists in Krasnodar and southern Russia. He composed the song and played the saxophone part on it. I produced the record and built the arrangement around Alena's vocal, keeping it open enough for the melody and the live sax to carry the song.
Alena is a familiar name here. In 2017 she staged two solo shows at Krasnodar's Central Concert Hall — "Разная" in June and "Настоящая" in December, the latter built largely on her own material and featuring dancers from Todes. Ahead of that show she was invited into the studio at Kuban 24 to perform and talk about it.
This single continues that line: another original song for her live set, now reaching a wider audience through radio.
