Inside “Грумер”: Sound Production for Etman

“Грумер” is one of the releases created during my ongoing collaboration with singer-songwriter Vadim Etman.
Vadim came to the project as the author of both the lyrics and music. My role was to take that material through sound production and shape it into a finished recording while preserving the character of his songwriting.
This distinction matters to me. Production is not about replacing the artist’s identity with the producer’s signature. It is about understanding what already makes the song recognizable, deciding which elements should lead, and building the arrangement and sound around them.
“Грумер” also reflects the way Vadim and I work together over time. Instead of treating every release as an isolated studio session, we have continued to develop the sound of the project across multiple songs. That continuity allows each new production to begin with a stronger understanding of the artist’s voice, delivery and audience.
