A record decides its own tempo. A film takes that away and hands you someone else's story. Nevelskiy on writing five cues for "Туфли" — his first film score, recorded with live saxophone and guitar at his Krasnodar studio, and where the film travelled afterwards.
For several scenes in “The Perfect Script,” Nevelskiy composed the music directly on set. A string quartet then performed it live while the cameras were rolling.
